About

The American Legion Riders (ALR) programs are organized by Chapters in virtually   every state in the nation. Currently there are over 800 ALR Chapters in the US   and several foreign countries.

The ALR members are members of the Legion family. That family includes Sons of   The American Legion, Auxiliary, and The American Legion. The purpose of the   ALR is to further the goals of The American Legion. We do this by participating in   events such as The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund which is   scholarships for the children of those men and women in uniform who have lost   their life since 9/11.

Some other events which we either sponsor or participate in are; Rolling Thunder,   fundraiser’s for VA hospitals, Salvation Army bell ringing,Wreaths Across America,   youth programs and many community charities.

We devote a lot of time and energy to showing our appreciation for the sacrifices   made by our military families. We participate in parades and other ceremonies   that are in keeping with the aims and purposes of The American Legion. We   promote motorcycle safety programs and provide a social atmosphere for   American Legion members who share the same interests.

There are only two requirements for membership. 1) Be a member of the Legion   family, and 2) own a motorcycle, 350 cc or bigger. We are not a motorcycle club.

Please contact any American Legion Post for information on membership in your   nearest American Legion Riders Chapter.

The Omaha Chapter of the ALR is sponsored by Omaha Post One, 7811 Davenport   Street Omaha, NE 68114

You do not need to be a member of Post One to be a member of the Omaha   Legion Riders we accept members from other Omaha area post.
